Spotware Systems' new AI-powered fraud detection solution keeps fraud rates below 0.08% of turnover. It combines early behavioral detection, cross-firm analysis, and financial risk assessment, helping companies identify suspicious trading activity before it leads to financial losses, payment disputes or reputational damage.
"Trading abuse doesn't stop at the boundaries of a single firm, but that's often where a risk team's visibility ends. It's difficult to recognise suspicious patterns when you're only seeing part of the picture. With cAntifraud, we want to change this. Our goal is to help brokers and prop firms identify potential abuse earlier, uncover connections across companies and understand their financial exposure before financial damage grows. Just as importantly, we want to give trading departments the information they need to assess risk more accurately and support fair and responsible trading practices," commented Pavel Demin, General Manager of cAntifraud at Spotware.
Early detection
The earlier a broker or prop firm notices unusual activity, the more options it has for dealing with it. Too often, however, potential violations only come to light during a payout review. At that point a client is awaiting funds, and any hold on a payment can lead to disputes, negative client feedback and pressure on risk and support teams. As trading volumes and payout requests grow, reviewing each case by hand gets harder to sustain.
The more elaborate schemes make this even more difficult. Multiple accounts, coordinated trading, third-party account management and activity spread across several companies are hard to spot when a risk team sees only part of the picture. Establishing who makes the trading decisions is also challenging when accounts are run through bots, signals or other people.
cAntifraud looks at risk from the earliest stage of the client relationship. Risk signals are evaluated during onboarding, including the initial KYC checks, and monitoring of trading activity continues afterwards. The AI examines trading patterns, execution timing, links between accounts and signs of coordinated activity helps risk teams distinguish potentially abusive behaviour from legitimate trading practices and gives them more context for each case.
Cross-firm intelligence
One of cAntifraud’s main strengths is that it can detect suspicious links that go beyond one broker or prop firm.
Participating companies share intelligence through a common network, so each can benefit from risk signals identified at other firms. When a potential threat is detected, the system immediately notifies other participants. That helps recognise potentially related accounts, coordinated trading schemes and hedging across firms.
cAntifraud is fully GDPR-compliant. The network exchanges encrypted and anonymised data. Each company keeps control of its own data and cannot access another participant’s client information.
Analysing the network’s combined signals can reveal patterns that a single firm would not detect on its own data. As more brokers and prop firms join, the shared intelligence becomes richer, improving the detection of suspicious connections and recurring schemes.
Financial risk assessment
cAntifraud also helps brokers and prop firms estimate what trading abuse could cost them financially. Its risk assessment tools cover estimated payout exposure and trader risk evaluation, so firms can decide which investigations to prioritise. Flagging suspicious activity within 15 minutes will allow a company to react soon enough to protect the funds fully.
Covering the risks brokers and prop firms face
For FX/CFD brokers, cAntifraud targets practices that can affect profitability and operational stability: IB commission abuse, latency arbitrage, coordinated trading, multi-accounting, copy trading abuse, cross-broker hedging and exploitation of bonus or zero-balance protection mechanisms.
For prop firms, cAntifraud addresses challenge farming, external hedging, multi-accounting, latency arbitrage and breaches of trading rules. Automated rule monitoring flags potential violations during trading, so firms do not depend only on manual checks ahead of a payout. This eases the burden on risk and support staff as the number of funded accounts and completed challenges grows.
Importantly, cAntifraud does not automatically block traders or decide whether a payout should be approved. Instead, it supplies the evidence needed to take appropriate action. The focus is on the signs of abuse, and profitable trading by legitimate traders is not treated as a reason for action.
Standalone and platform-agnostic
cAntifraud supports cTrader, MT5 and other major trading platforms, liquidity bridges and CRMs through a universal API. It complements existing risk management systems, allowing companies to improve fraud detection without replacing their current infrastructure. The solution can operate independently or with cBridge, Spotware’s fixed-price liquidity bridge.
