Hackathon to promote innovation and adoption of cTrader WebView plugins

Spotware, the developer of multi-asset trading platform, cTrader, is excited to announce the launch of the cTrader WebView Plugins Hackathon, a deve​lo​pment con​te​st crea​ted to ce​le​bra​te and su​pport the re​lea​se of cTra​der’s brand-new We​bView plu​gins fea​tu​re. The event ki​cks off on 16th July 2025, and invites coders, traders and creative tech minds to build and publish innovative plugins for a chance to win high-end prizes and recognition in the cTrader community.

The cTra​der We​bView Plu​gins Ha​cka​thon is de​si​g​ned to spark crea​tivi​ty and ado​ption of this po​wer​ful new fea​tu​re. Par​ti​ci​pan​ts will co​mpe​te to crea​te and pu​bli​sh the most po​pu​lar We​bView plu​gin in the cTra​der Sto​re by the con​te​st’s clo​sing date of 31st August 2025.

To be eligible, plugins must pass moderation and be officially published in the cTrader Store. Participation is open to all.

The top three entries will receive premium Apple products:

• 3rd Place: Apple Watch 10

Win​ners will be cho​sen by cTra​der Ma​na​ge​ment, ba​sed on each plu​gin’s crea​tivi​ty, fun​ctio​na​li​ty and ove​ra​ll po​ten​tial. Fi​nal re​su​lts will be an​noun​ced on 8th September 2025.

Why WebView plugins matter

Un​li​ke tra​di​tio​nal plu​gins li​mi​ted to de​sktop usa​ge, We​bView plu​gins allow users to in​te​g​ra​te cu​stom web con​tent di​re​ctly into the cTra​der pla​tform acro​ss de​sktop, web, and mo​bi​le apps. This groun​dbrea​king fle​xi​bi​li​ty empo​wers both bro​kers and in​de​pen​dent deve​lo​pers to en​ri​ch the tra​ding expe​rien​ce with real-time da​shboar​ds, AI-po​we​red assi​stan​ts, pro​prie​tary too​ls, and more, than​ks to in​te​g​ra​ted cloud syn​chro​ni​sa​tion.

Beyond cross-platform compatibility, WebView plugins open up serious opportunities for brokers, introducing brokers (IBs) and developers. Brokers can use them to deliver branded, interactive content that increases engagement and builds user loyalty. IBs, in turn, can use plugins to add unique value to their services, such as educational tools, referral dashboards or analytics widgets, helping them attract and retain traders while strengthening their relationships with partnered brokers.

Meanwhile, developers can build useful tools that traders love, publish them in the cTrader Store and monetise their work. Optionally, they can add WebView plugins to their cTrader apps and share them via Invite, attributing other traders.

If you can bui​ld a ba​sic web app and con​ne​ct it to an API, you can crea​te a plu​gin. From fo​rex tra​ding in​nova​tions to edu​ca​tion wi​d​ge​ts or real-time ana​lyti​cs pa​ne​ls, the po​ssi​bi​li​ties are almo​st en​dle​ss.
