Data QA Engineer

Spotware Systems is looking for a motivated Data QA Engineer who will join our rapidly growing DWH/BI team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the data collected from sources to DWH and displayed in the BI applications is accurate and consistent. You will be involved in reviewing the data quality, completeness and consistency and testing ETL procedures during the entire DWH and BI development processes. You will be collaborating closely with the DWH and BI developers, as well as with business analysts to improve the processes that affect data quality.

Responsibilities:

• Determine the types of testing that must be conducted for ETL procedures and data marts implemented in DWH, including evaluating the testability of requirements, and create a comprehensive test plan that supports the business and technological solutions being delivered
• Perform testing of ETL procedures and data marts of the DWH according to the test plans
• Conduct data quality analysis, resolve data integrity and data quality issues 
• Run data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions
• Collaborate with DWH developers to improve data collection and storage processes and technologies, as well as to improve performance and design on the DWH
• Collaborating with BI developers to ensure that data displayed in BI applications is complete and consistent
• Collaborate with business analysts to ensure all the requirements and complaints from stakeholders regarding data quality and depth are being resolved in time and according to the company’s policies

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, most of which is DWH testing (ETL procedures, data marts, etc.)
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Extensive experience in test case preparation and execution
• Knowledge of software test life cycle
• Ability to transform complex business logic into SQL queries
• Ability to find and identify root causes and consequences of issues

Will be a plus:

• Experience in data analysis / DWH development
• Test automation experience
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Tableau BI
• Experience in the FinTech domain
• Basic knowledge of the FX market domain
